From the Mediterranean coast to the far north, people have begun reporting something extraordinary: towels, flip-flops and even human beings floating several centimetres above the ground.
The phenomenon lasts between 10 and 30 seconds.
There is no known way to predict it, although some witnesses claim to feel a faint vibration beneath their feet just before it happens…
as if the Earth itself were breathing.
