Pensavientos — Theory of Visual Libertinism in Atmospheric Dynamics is an expansive, continuously evolving art project that unfolds through photography, installation, exhibition, objects, text, graphic design and book publishing.
It begins with a simple premise: if words are carried away by the wind, then images — whether mental or otherwise — must be carried away too. Will they mix with one another? What new meanings will they take on? Where will they go?
From these questions emerge the Pensavientos: visual hybrids that move, transform and materialise within an imaginary atmosphere. Molecules of imagination, surrealism and humour that, inspired by atmospheric dynamics, are grouped according to their affinities into twelve alternative air currents: Breeze of Faith, Poetic Hurricane, Gastronomic Cierzo, Political Tramontana, Philosophical Tornado, Aesthetic Blizzard, Technological Cyclone, Ecological Westerly, Fashion Sirocco, Artistic Typhoon, Leisure Zonda and Everyday Levante.
Around this idea, an entire theoretical and graphic universe has been developed. Pensavientos is not only about the images themselves, but also about how they are classified, named, described and displayed. Texts, definitions, formulas, symbols, diagrams and a custom typeface built around the V — understood as both vector and representation of wind — create a visual grammar that gives coherence to the entire project.
The exhibition translates this system into physical space through photographs, panels, texts, objects and display cases, while the book Theory of Visual Libertinism in Atmospheric Dynamics expands the universe as a 240-page neo-academic publication containing more than 200 visual hybrids, formulas and bespoke graphic elements. In this way, each format becomes a different manifestation of the same underlying idea.
Pensavientos is not conceived as a closed work, but as an open system: a universe capable of continuing to generate new images, new associations, new air currents and new ways of materialising itself.
